Delhi Development Authority is the responsible body for the allocation of flats all over Delhi that are developed under Delhi Government’s Plan for Housing and Urban Development in order to provide shelter for the residents of Delhi. Delhi, being the capital City of India, remains center of all the actions also the commonwealth games were held in the city in year 2010 making it famous the world over.
The area that is included in the Vasant Kunj location had to be the visitors’ and tourists’ hospitality space to the capital city during the games. Their auctioning was to be done later on being a major part of DDA’s Mega Housing Scheme. The flats were auctioned and were bagged by all those who hoped the building to be ready by the time. Now, as two years have been passed, the buildings witnessing layer of dust and rooms having theme of cobweb, the authority is yet to finalize them. Neither could the showcase flats become of any help as far as hospitality services are concerned as is evident from the government needing to arrange some alternatives to become able in housing the CWG guests. The maximum flats out of the whole number, reading 2,709, of flats which are said to be “furnished” at Vasant Kunj are left to be occupied even as two years have passed. The complex “Ganga and Yamuna” containing 40 towers has left with work in progress in 2 of the towers. Get the details of New DDA Flats 2013
However, DDA has rejected the claim of allottees who say that they aren’t given with any possession as yet. Not even finishing is done thoroughly electric wires and cables are left naked. Officials of DDA told about Ganga Towers to be ready and furnished and the fact revealed by a ground check showed the reality presenting broken window panes and floor tiles while the painting work wasn’t of any standard whatsoever. The situation of cupboards, kitchen and sinks is pathetic. People say that the flats will take at least a year to get ready and no one has got any possession letter, neither have they got any idea of when they could live into their own house, seeing the current status. Although Yamuna Tower has a better condition yet there’s no electricity or water connection established till date. People are saying that the scheme has fallen flat as the hopes of many people who had aspired and were highly optimistic about having their own homes were demolished by the way the scheme was executed by Delhi Development Authority.
